» New Local Climate Action Poll 10/3/07

On October 4th, 2007, 70 communities across the country came together to discuss the science behind and what is needed to solve global warming. It was all part of the National Conversation on Climate Action, a series of events convened by local government leaders and designed to build awareness of, grow support for and engage new allies in local climate action work.

Public concern over global warming has galvanized communities around the world to take action. This global challenge is being met with local leadership and a commitment from a range of stakeholders to finding creative solutions at the local level. The National Conversation was inspired by the power to affect positive change on the climate front at the local level, and the October 4th events have surely inspired more solutions and community action.
